5 Products All Women Should Have:
Black liner - It’s the one thing you should keep in your bag. You can easily go from day to night, just by rimming your inner lids. Recommends: Face Stockholm’s the Art Eye Pencil (comes with has a sharpener and smudger built in) and MAC Technakohl Liner.
Smudgees – Pre-packaged q tips that are pre-moistened, but not wet. Perfect to keep in your bag with the perfect amount of moisture to correct but not mess up anything else.
Eyelash Curler – Recommends: Billy B Beauty
False Eyelashes – Recommends: Shu Emura for a special occasion; the band of them is so defined it eliminates having to go back in and draw black liquid liner over it. Use black duo lash glue, it dries dark. (More budget conscience alternative) – Ardell #110 or use individual lashes just on the outer corner. Daramascara is all about the lash line and lashes because that is where the most impact is achieved.
Cream blush – Recommends: Bobbi Brown’s Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks – even if you have oily skin you can apply this on your cheek, powder over it and then top with a powdered cheek color for an extra bit of pop. It looks like the color is coming from within your skin. Less pressure, less product.
Favorite Looks for the Upcoming Seasons:
Spring/Summer: Bronzed skin - apply bronzer where the sun would naturally kiss your skin. Come down the forehead, down the cheeks and a little bit on the chin; sometimes referred to as a W technique. For summer, skip the foundation and just go with the tinted moisturizer. Make sure you’re wearing something with sun screen. Recommends: Stila or Laura Mercier
Fall: Bronze/gold and blue/gray shadows - With grays you can get the impact of a smoky eye but softer; does what you want a black to do without committing. A classic red lip always works when you are bundled up. Your lips can be the perfect accessory. If you don’t want to commit to the full on matte lip, use stains which are deep versions of the matte but transparent enough that you still feel your lip coming through.
